Privacy policy — Assisty Stock Alerts
Last updated 22 September 2026.
Who we are
Assisty Stock Alerts is made by Assisty Technology Company Limited, Hanoi, Vietnam ("we"). Write to customer.services@assisty.ai about anything on this page. The merchant who installs the app is the controller of their store's data; we process it on their behalf, for the one purpose below.
What the app does
The app tells you which of your tracked products will run out before a new order could arrive. It reads your catalog, your inventory levels and the last 60 days of paid orders, works out how fast each variant sells, compares that with each supplier's lead time, and shows every variant with one of four statuses on the Stock risk screen.
What we hold, and why
| Data | Where it comes from | Why we hold it | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your products and variants: title, handle, product type, vendor, tags, image, SKU, barcode, price, unit cost, whether inventory is tracked | Your Shopify catalog | To name each product, to know its supplier from the vendor field, and to classify only tracked variants | You |
| The inventory level of each variant at each location, and your locations' names | Shopify inventory | To know how many units are available, summed across your active locations | You |
| The line items of paid orders from the last 60 days: product title, SKU, quantity, unit price, and the order's name, currency and the date it was paid; refunded quantities | The Shopify order, without its customer | To measure how many units each variant sells per day | You |
| The lead time you set per supplier, the default lead time and the safety buffer | What you type in Settings | To decide whether a variant runs out before restock | You |
| The email address of each recipient you add, and your store's email address | What you type in Settings; Shopify, at install | To send the daily digest and the out-of-stock email when email alerts are switched on; to reach you about the app | You |
| A record of each send: when, to which recipients, how many products, and whether it was accepted | The app | So the Recent sends list shows what was sent | You |
| Each variant's computed status, its snooze, and the days it had stock | The app | So the Stock risk screen shows the list without recomputing it | You |
| Your store's domain, name, currency, time zone and your email address | Shopify, at install | To run the app for your store and to reach you about it | Us |
| An access token for your store | Shopify, at install | So the app can read your catalog, inventory and orders | Nobody; it is stored encrypted and never shown |
We hold nothing about your customers. The app asks Shopify for order line items only, never for the customer's name, address, email address or phone number, and never for payment details, browsing or marketing preferences.
Protected customer data
The app requests protected customer data at Level 1: the order's line items, and nothing about the customer. No customer field reaches the app, so there is nothing about a customer to show, share or erase. Shopify's customers/data_request and customers/redact requests are answered, and the answer is that the app holds no customer data.
Where it is held
The app runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every store's rows are separated from every other store's at the database level, so a request from one store can never read another's. Shopify remains the source of every product, inventory level and order; the app keeps a copy for as long as the app is installed.
The daily digest and the out-of-stock email are sent through SendGrid to the recipients you add, and only while email alerts are switched on for the app. While they are switched off, as they are at the time of writing, no email is sent and SendGrid receives nothing. When an email is sent, SendGrid receives the recipient's address and the message; we keep the send record, not the message.
How long
- For the life of the install. When you uninstall (Shopify's
app/uninstalledwebhook) the app destroys its access token and stops processing your store at once. - About 48 hours after an uninstall Shopify sends
shop/redact, and every row of your store is deleted: products, inventory levels, orders and their line items, lead times, recipients, send records, statuses, everything. - When Shopify sends
customers/redactorcustomers/data_requestfor a customer, the app answers that it holds no customer data, because it never requested any.
Sub-processors
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, the database and the queues that carry your store's events.
- Shopify — the source of every product, inventory level and order.
- SendGrid — the email sending, only while email alerts are switched on.
Nobody else receives your store's data.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or share data with anyone for their own purposes. We run no advertising and no analytics on your store's data. We do not use your data to advise other merchants, or other merchants' data to advise you. We do not contact your customers.
Your rights
You can see and change everything the app holds for your store from inside the app, and delete it by uninstalling. If you are a customer of a store that uses the app, contact that store; the app holds nothing about you.
Changes
We will post changes to this page and update the date at the top.
